I voted yes.

Big fan of Shenmue here, played both 1 and 2 on Dreamcast. Heck, I even skip class to go buy X-box just so I could pick up Shenmue 2 remake, which comes with the Shenmue movie. That's the only reason why I bought an X-box, eventhough I sold the system now I still kept that special Shenmue with me.

So yeah, I hope they remake it on PS3 and continue onto part 3 to wrap up the story. It was just getting GOOD too!

So you still have the game to after selling your X-box to. The 2nd one to me was that good. It came out around the time GTA Vice City did. Bought both of them. Didn't even touch Vice City. Was hooked on Shenmue. Never played the first oe though. But would love to.

You should play the Dreamcast Shenmue 2 without the stinky dubbing

I keep hearing about a port of the first 2 games for next-gen systems. Doing it should be fairly easy since they're about 3 GB each (many assetts are duplicated across discs). Supposedly Shenmue 3 is scripted, once they port the engine implementing it, aside from voice recording should be fairly easy to do

The problem is being assured they'll sell enough copies to make it worth it

I think thats why he's having second thoughts and was saying if there was a good demand for it. No matter which system. I vote PS3! I would have the first pre-order.

I think there focus is on Yakuza. Didn't the guy who created Shenmue create Yakuza?

I dont know if I would have even owned an Xbox if it wasn't for the US version of Shenmue getting canned on the Dreamcast and moved to Xbox. It just took too long for the sequel to reach the US. By time Shenmue 2 made it to Xbox, it was too late. I never finished that game. I loved the first one and was getting into the second one. For some reason I just could not finish it.

I dont think I would buy a remake as I still have the first two and I can play them. And I would be interested in seeing Shenmue 3, but I doubt I would buy it.

The only thing I remember from the first Shenmue is, "That day . . . did you see a black car?"

I never did play the second one. But it should be amazing, visually, on PS3. I'd probably check it out.

I'm fairly sure the project is dead as nothing about the game has been announced since 2006. There are rumors it was quietly canceled.

I wish Sega would release Shenmue III and IV on PS3.

The games share a similar game-play style and are both made by Sega. I'm pretty sure Yu Suzuki had nothing to do with Yakuza.

Such is the question with all game development/translation.

I picked up a Euro edition of Shenmue 2 Dreamcast. I haven't tested it on my TV yet.

The hardware has finally caught up to the true and full potential of what the vision for this series could be. I'm all for seeing a third game, remakes, you name it.

played through shenmue 1 on the dc in 2 sittings, then waited and waited for part 2, finally xbox had part 2 and when i finally bought the xbox and shenmue i read that the creator trashed the rest of it so instead of playing though 2 it just sat. now ive got shenmue and sold the xbox w/ part 2. but if they come out with 3 ill pick up and play 1 and 2 to get ready for 3. yea but chances of anyone seeing part 3 is like seeing playstation and ms making a system together lol. actually one system for next gen would be best i think...think about it all the 3rd party games are on both systems other then exclusives which ps3 has WAY more then 360 this year (they have like 2 or 3....fable,halo wars and ninja gaiden 2) i can imagine playing gears of war, mario and uncharted on one system.........uuuummmmmmmm no more fan boys lol. sorry got off topic

I forgot all about this game until this tread, it was one of the reasons why I bought a dreamcast.

I picked up a spare dreamcast at a garage sale with some controllers for $4 and Shenmue came with it. (The only game the person still had.)

So.... I should go dig the DC out of it's home in the basement storage and play that game.

I'm not a gamer much these days as about 20 minutes of playing games puts me about a week behind in my chores but ... that game is just sitting there waiting....
