Lately they've been using Pecopak SB1 mailers because of Royal Mail's volumetric charging for domestic mail. These are pretty good and I've never had a damaged steelbook from Amazon. Since different overseas mail is not volumetrically charged they may pack differently. When I order from overseas branches of Amazon I always order at least two items, postage is cheaper and packing is better.

Italy, Spain and France just use their standard card pouch mailers, hence if buying a steelbook from any of them, I try and add a few more items to the order to get slightly better packaging. The biggest joke are Amazon Canada who use the same crappy thin jiffy bags they use for regular orders. My one and only steelbook buy from them had the steelbook bent through 30 degrees as no protection what so ever. They sent a replacement and told me don't bother returning the damaged one. It arrived undamaged on the outside but one of the inside plastic bits that can hold in a booklet was snapped off. Could not be bothered complaining again. |

Not entirely incorrect, as far as I know Universal in the US has never locked any of their titles. And this is a UK thread, they never lock their titles either. Germany could be a different story. |

Transporter 3 was released by Universum which is a German film industry corporation, seems to be an independent studio that purchases international licenses from different US studios. I rest my case that Universal Pictures Blu-ray's (not Universum) is and will always be Region Free. No matter what part of the world it is. Hence the name "Universal" ![]() |

![]() Universal UK have done region locking before, it's dependant on who owns the rights outside of the UK (and, as has been pointed out, Wolf of Wall Street is distributed by Paramount in a few countries including the US). Region B locked titles include David Lynch blu-rays such as Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me and Eraserhead, Citizen Kane, Walkabout, Life's Too Short, Good Vibrations, Take Shelter and, I believe, Downton Abbey. So the truth is that until someone has a copy of this in hand we won't know 100% about the region status. Last edited by Buddy Ackerman; 02-15-2014 at 10:43 AM. |

You're missing his point - Universal only control distribution of this film in certain countries. Paramount control it in others. So yes, Paramount does have a place in this conversation - as shown in my precious post Universal do region-lock where they have to and this film, where distribution is split across different territories, may be one of those times.

![]() I don't know why you keep missing the point here, whether the mention of Paramount is getting in the way, so let's take them out of the equation and ignore them. The facts are - - Universal do sometimes region-lock if they the distribution rights are split - The distribution rights for Wolf of Wall Street are split. Doesn't matter who with. - Therefore, it's possible that this steelbook release may not be region-free Here's my previous (and precious) post with the examples - Quote:
