They are expensive, but IMO worth it. They also have a cool self-calibrating feature, but it acts similarly to Audyessy (for the sub anyway), which seems to be in ALOT of receivers nowadays. The "best" sub I have ever heard was a Krell sub that I heard 6-7 years ago that was teamed with the Krell LAT1s. It was a passive sub that weighed like 450lbs. (ridiculous) A close 2nd are the JBL synthesis 1 subs (also passive, one on each side). Which we have on display. I am constantly amazed at how hard the 18" drivers hit.
