Maybe not. September 23 is a Tuesday, and that would put it right in the 5-6 month sweet spot for home video releases.

Not always... as I can remember a few Friday releases (can't remember any of the titles per se, though I do believe one of the "Shrek" releases was released on a Friday)... but they're rare, so I agree, it's most likely a typo.

I wonder if Miss Pettigrew will come later on if Universal releases a deluxe edition. They released Brokeback Mountain and Pride & Prejudice on HD DVD when they upgraded the standard DVD. I think they will probably release In Bruges on Blu Ray when they release a deluxe ed on DVD. Universal likes to re-issue titles.

Default August 26

Universal has announced a late-August bow for the George Clooney football comedy 'Leatherheads.'

Co-starring John Krasinski and Renee Zellweger, the Clooney-directed sports farce was a box office underachiever during its brief theatrical run earlier this year, grossing less than $30 million and earning mixed critical notices.

Universal is clearly hoping for a better score on home video, when it debuts the film on Blu-ray August 26, day-and-date with the standard DVD.

There are no tech specs or supplemental details available as of yet, but we'll keep you posted.

Universal has set a $34.95 list price for the Blu-ray.

I think Leather streets 9/16, unless they changed it.

Is this movie worth picking up on BD? I heard it bombed in the theaters.

Awesome. Universal's new release list prices are only $34.99. I like that.

I wouldn't say bombed. It had a $58 million budget and earned $31 million. Releasing a football movie in April was probably not the best idea.
