Whether or not you are disturbed by it is irrelevant. If people will buy it and it is legal, there is a need for it.

Should the "Saw" and "Hostel" films not be allowed to be made because they disturb people?

There wont be any differences in PQ between the Blu-ray and the DVD since the sourcematerial is old,bad and filmed with weak cameras.

I can't argue this. I can't imagine this looking much better on BD.

Dude, you know those scenes are fake, right? Don't get me wrong, with the vast number of truly amazing horror movies out there that haven't been released on BD yet, FoD is hardly a must-own. Having said that, the majority of gruesome fatalities in the film are staged and use actors and make-up effects (the easiest way to tell if it's fake - which makes up most of the film - is if the scene is shot w/ multiple camera set-ups).

Odd choice for a Blu-ray release. Seen it many times. The animal scenes bugged me . . . the people dying I've seen much worse than anything that's in this film. Always good to see this smaller stuff released alongside the blockbusters, though.

i could understand people being upset if it was big studio releasing this instead of something bigger but does anyone actually know what movies this company owns.

people saying why bother releasing it on blu ray when something better could be released its what this company is offering and im personally happy to see more smaller studio's putting out titles on blu ray sure i might like the movies coming out but the more the merrier.

I remember seeing this way back and the only memories i remember of the movie is when a guy in a parachute lands in a croc-infested lake or when a car's front axl lands on a guy's leg severing the knee and only holding on to the leg by a nerve...

Yeah I saw this when I was growing up and curious...It is not as graphic as some of the other things I have seen growing up (ie. suicide of Bud Dwyer...)

Now that I am grown and mature with a family I believe all of it is sad and distasteful and the word entertainment should not be paired with those real scenes of someone hopeless and at the pinnacle of dispair, unless you have a psychological issue. It that be true about you, then I worry for you.

It did it first and it did it better.

Movies like Hostel, no matter how gruesome, are fun if your interested in horror, how they make the movies etc, very different to real stuff.

I know some, if not all, of the original is fake, but there are other similar movies that are not.

It would be interesting if there was a documentary covering the series' history, media impact etc.

It should be released, but I don't think these movies can be classed alongside regular horror movies.
