Company sues Blu Ray over patent??

I kind of find it funny. Blu-ray has been a consumer product since 2003. That would mean the patents would have been filed way before that (no less 2004). Plus, if they sued Sony, the rest of the BDA would still be making Blu-ray discs (TDK, Ritek, etc.). Independent manufactuers pressing BD-ROMs aren't owned by Sony. I think this is another MS/Toshiba FUD plan at work. You can sue anyone for anything (founded or not). People tend to automatically think a lawsuit is founded. IMO, that is what is being preyed upon. Hell, I could sue the state of Texas for being too big. Would I win?

Off Topec: Last semester in Economics, I learned that a man sued Subway because the penut butter cookies had peanuts in them, and there was not a warning that said so. And of course he won...
