He makes films he wants to make not what he thinks will make money. I love everyone of films for this, Mariachi & Desperado just great fun action films, Dusk till dawn huge horror fun, Spy Kids are some of the most fun family films for a long time. Frank Miller is a hack who RR gave way to much credit to (his title of Director, now he thinks he can make his own films, the spirit doesn't look like it will have any artistic direction apart from copying Sin City's original take on comic books)

Oh please don't give me that art vs commercial crap. Yeah Dusk Till Dawn is "amazing horror" and desperado is "great action" but sin city is "commercial" And what cause a director makes money its a bad thing? I like Sin City because I have read all the graphic novels long before the movie was out and was a fan for a long time. Then it comes out and its exactly like the graphic novels the style duplicated on film. I was impressed at it because its like watching the graphic novels come to life. This artistic vision that you say Frank Miller doesn't have made Sin City as good as it was. Rodriguez didn't take it and do his own thing because Miller was the one that did it. And spirit looks just like Sin City because of Millers style. People like you say spirit is a copy when its millers style in the first place. So hes copying himself? Hes copying the signature style he created himself in comics and graphic novels? Believe me read anything Frank Miller did and you'll see the artistic style of Sin City and Spirit is Frank Millers soley and has nothing to do with Rodriguez.
