I think it might be in the start when Drew takes Sherrie into the club, but I could be wrong.

That's cool I appreciate it! And no, I don't think you're crazy. There was a ton of great songs in there and it was a fairly long movie, so I could've easily missed it.
I just thought it odd, seeing as how popular MC was, at that time, on the strip!
Have fun viewing it again! Unfortunately I've got to watch my Eagles get humiliated on National TV for MNF!

The reason you didn't see Motley Crue is that they didn't want to licence their music for this movie. That's what's making me rethink that song in the background, but for some reason I really think I heard one. Thanks, I will enjoy it as I love this movie !

Yeah obviously MC didn't want to license their movie, but I wonder why? With so many other bands on board, it just seems like a head scratcher to me. Not the end of the world, far from it, just struck me as odd.

Maybe they were afraid that the movie would suck and put a black mark on their music

I don't know the song, as I don't listen to Motley Crue, but I'm 99.9% sure that it was when Drew and Sherry entered The Bourbon Room just after she got robbed of her CDs and Drew was trying to get her a job.

That's what I was thinking and don't you mean Albums? Cds weren't even out around that time yet?

These were listed on wikipedia and sound correct, also wiki makes no mention of a MC song...so maybe they did decline licensing their songs? Of course wiki makes no mention of that either:

"I Remember You" by Skid Row
"Everybody Wants Some!!" by Van Halen
"Rock of Ages" by Def Leppard
"Bringin' on the Heartbreak" by Def Leppard
"Talk Dirty to Me" by Poison
"No One Like You" by Scorpions
"Cum on Feel the Noize" by Slade covered by Quiet Riot
"Cherry Pie" by Warrant (Extended Cut)

I just got done watching it again and yeah, I don't think any MC songs were in it. Were there any in the original play?

No, at least according to Wiki. I think the most egregious sone left out, although they did play it for a few seconds, was Oh Sherrie by Steve Perry. I mean the female lead's name is Sherry!
Thanks for confirming. I guess the Crue wanted too much Ca$h, OR they just didn't want their name attached to the film. That would explain why they aren't even mentioned in the extra: Legends of the Sunset Strip.
Kind of a shame as Dr.Feelgood and/or Kickstart My Heart would've been great guitar rifts to add, and Girls, Girls, Girls would've been ideal in the Venus Club, IMO.(I've always heard in every strip I've had the pleasure of attending )

I'm guessing it was either money issues like you said, or wanting nothing to do with it.

I was hoping they would, at least, appear in the extras...oh well.
Funny after searching around for a definitive answer about this, I stumbled on an Amazon book listing and it reminded me of the book, about MC, that I read years ago and something I'll never forget:
The guys in the band were talking about how many women they "went through" on a daily basis, that to mask the...uhm...scent on their....uhm...private parts they would smear Taco Bell sauce packets. LOL!
I have never looked at a Taco Bell sauce packet the same!
I'm just wondering how the women felt afterwards? Medium, Hot, or FIRE!!

I guess they just thought they were too cool for this and that it was lame. Or atleast what they thought.

Conversely, as much as I love the song, I'm getting tired of hearing Journey's Don't Stop Believing all the time. It's everywhere in these kinds of movies and TV shows (Glee).
