Not sure if that's a national program.
I tried a trial period at Blockbuster......

I like many older or foreign films on regular DVD too, and Blockbuster's selection was terrible compared to Netflix...... I did like the in-store exchange, but it didn't make up for the fact that their shipping (for me at least) was always 3 or 4 days..... when Netflix would receive the movies next day EVERY TIME.

Didn't want to derail.... just throwing that out there.

You're right, but the shipping time varies for everyone. Where I live, on the west shore of Michigan, Netflix ships from Lansing, MI and Blockbuster ships from Lansing, MI. I get my movies in 1 day from both.

It is the best way to see a lot of foreign and unfamiliar titles without buying!

I do the $3 for one night rentals at Blockbuster, at least until Redbox decides to come out with the BluBox.

I wish my Blockbuster would institute a 1 night rental fee. Their fee is $5 for 5 nights, period. I've told them that I've heard that some stores have a $2 per night fee, but they were clueless.

Yep Dallas, TX $1.99 for one night--good deal IMO considering SDs are $1.99 a night also.

$5 for 5 nights is bit harsh on the customers. Probably that makes business sense for them if there is no competition around. Do a web search/phone and find out the rates in the area and let them know.

I live on a military base. Here we have a place called "The Zone"
It has overnight $.99 DVD rentals TO INCLUDE older and new Blu-Ray. The selection is limited, however. But I did manage to rent "Defiance" last weekend

I do Netflix for most movies. There are some I don't want to wait on, so I use our local Mr. Movies which I believe is $4.29 for a 1 or 2 day rental. They are finally starting to get a decent selection. At least they don't ask me anymore "Did you know this is a BluRay not a regular movie?"
