I would imagine this for 1-4:
-The 4K transfers -5.1 AND original (lossless) Mono -Both cuts of F13 -All 2004-09 related extras -MAYBE the deleted scenes from F13 Part 2, the F13 TV spot and radio spots for 1-4. -Scream Factory commentaries for the sequels? If Paramount has co-ownership and/or wants to (and they might). |

I don't understand this release at all. There's the Scream set that's $20 more if you want the 4K transfers and the rest of the movies or the $25 set with 1-8 if you just want the films. I gotta imagine if you care about new transfers you already have the Scream set.

I'd be a little bit surprised if Paramount had invested and holds partial ownership of any of the Shout produced extras. But then, and this is important: I don't know how any of this works.
I'm just guessing that Shout was left to do what they can on their own and Paramount and WB were in it for the licensing fees and profit shares. Deleted scenes are probably a much higher possibility though. Last edited by AFFanAttic; 05-24-2021 at 07:57 PM. |

I think it will be down to like $50 or 60 at highest by release date, and with digital copies, there's likely enough of a market for it.
This might just be a more viable option than printing more of the current 8-movie sets, and they can keep selling it for a little higher than the one that goes for $25. |

This is the big question for me. Also, I wonder if they will release these individually, I don’t want to double dip just for the 3D version.

The artwork is poor for the paramount set, it’s basically looks like a no-effort photoshop job in my opinion, however, I’m going to grin and bare it on this occasion. Too many other films I want rather than double dip just for the 3D. |

Agree with others in the thread that this is a weird release. I would have assumed they would just keep reprinting the old cheapo set as an alternative to the SF set until they put out 1-4 on 4K UHD. That said, I would have bought this if they'd slipped in new remasters of The New Blood and Jason Takes Manhattan. Art is surprisingly nice and I much prefer the Paramount entries over anything that followed.
Funny considering the only upgrade it received for the SF set was getting its own disc. And it looks like it won't even get that for this release. ![]() |
