Mate, I just work there. Every store is different, if you think you're going to get wrong information or are getting wrong information then shop somewhere else; that's the point of having a whole load of choice.

Those things I mentioned happened at different stores. Every jb store I and friends have visited between Penrith and the city has been exactly the same when it comes to staff having poor knowledge of products. I only shop at jb for blu-ray's or if I'm given a better price than anywhere else on something lol. I wasn't trying to be rude, so I'm sorry if I offended u in anyway.

Why don't you guys just import this from Amazon? You can get it for less than half the price of buying locally. Buying the set locally is a major rip off. I got the Alien Anthology, plus 8 other movies for the price of buying the Alien Anthology on its own locally.

Sorry if I came off a bit rough, I know you didn't mean to offend. To be brutally honest, I can't really talk about my work on a public forum. I am more than happy to help out people on the forum if they're trying to locate something or with questions I may be able to answer though.

From experience in working at these kinds of stores, the difference is that other store's employees pretend to know what they're talking about. JB's usually don't.

Yes sometimes that's true so I won't exactly disagree, though I was referring to my own experiences, and in my own experiences some retailers are much worse than others. To me it's shocking when some employees of jb don't even understand what simple things are, such as 24p, 3d ghosting, backlight bleed, dolby digital true hd and dts hd master audio, sacd's etc, I've spoken to quite a number of different hi fi sales people at jb and half of them don't even understand what any of those examples are. As far as I'm concerned if u sell home theatre equipment u should know about these things. especially when a lot of them are basic. Plus like I said in an earlier post, I've personally herd many jb staff give false info based on their own biased opinion of a product (such as blu-ray and game consoles) where in the end the customer walked away not purchasing anything, but would have if they were told the right info.

I applied with them for a hi fi sales role the other year too, I just walked straight in with a copy of my resume, I didn't know if they were hiring or not, asked to speak to the hi fi and store mangers, they took me out back and sat me down where I had a conversation with them for about half an hour, then they just said when can u start. I ended up declining the offer just before I was supposed to start though because I got a better offer from somewhere else.

Decided to pick up the Egg Edition while there are still a few hanging around.
Wanted the special features on Blu, the individual releases don't seem to have them.

Exactly, currently 17.99 (27.50 AUS or 37.30 NZ) from amazon uk with free shipping until mid Aug.
I've never bought anything from JB HiFi because their prices don't seem that great and the closest one is an hour and a half drive away from me.

I ended up getting the regular boxset from JB just before christmas when they had 20% all their DVD's and Blu-Rays. I also got a few other boxsets as well and I'm happy with that.

But not thinking I then sold my 2 disc DVD copies of the first 2 movies that had all the good special features on them. Bugger.
