Warner Bros Noah 3D Blu-ray (2014) [Region Free]

http://www.joblo.com/movie-news/darr...-north-america

So the above article says that Darren Aronofsky's upcoming Noah biblical epic will be converted to 3D, however NOT for North America, UK, Australia or France. So in other markets it will be presented in 3D.

This is great news that there will be a post conversion for this movie, but disappointing that A) i won't be able o see it at the cinema in 3D and B) that i will have to import the 3D Blu.

very odd this, although it's apparently due to Aronofsky not being a fan of 3D

And, I suspect, the US studio not being a fan of the movie.

If they didn't like the movie they wouldn't have bankrolled it in the first place.

Mind as big of a fan of his work as I am, I have absolutely no interest whatsoever in seeing this.

There's a difference between a studio bankrolling a project on director name value, and finding a prime release slot for the finished product...

Ordered my copy from dddhouse.com on July 30th. It's already here in San Antonio as of Sunday. Can't wait to see what it looks like in 3D...

I just finished watching it and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the 3D conversion. Not as good as Jurassic Park or Titanic, but stronger than Gravity for instance.

Medium to strong 3D throughout - some shots are weaker, but all the big special effects scenes benefit strongly from the 3D. In particular shots involving the Watchers, the battle scenes, the deluge scenes, the animals boarding the ark have quite strong 3D. Good medium depth in quieter scenes, convincing dimensionality in close ups etc. A few pop-outs mostly involving birds and rain. All in all I am very happy with it.

As for the film itself, after reading so many negative and hysterical reviews, I was expecting the worst but I thought it was good - not a masterpiece or anything, but definitely entertaining. I'm not a believer so I don't really care if it's faithful or not.

WOW! Better than Gravity, because I thought Gravity looked amazing.

It's also great that the movie is in 1:85 format - full screen 3D is more immersive.

I am so looking forward to this now after what you guys are saying. I too prefer consistent and effective depth rather than in your face gimmicks.

Default Noah 3D?

Where is the best place to order a region free 3D copy of Noah, and it must be in English?

I ordered a copy of Noah from DDDHouse.com. Thanks so much for the link. It appears it is coming from Hong Kong. Just hope it is in English and region free.
