Warner Bros Noah 3D Blu-ray (2014) [Region Free]

http://www.joblo.com/movie-news/darr...-north-america

So the above article says that Darren Aronofsky's upcoming Noah biblical epic will be converted to 3D, however NOT for North America, UK, Australia or France. So in other markets it will be presented in 3D.

This is great news that there will be a post conversion for this movie, but disappointing that A) i won't be able o see it at the cinema in 3D and B) that i will have to import the 3D Blu.

very odd this, although it's apparently due to Aronofsky not being a fan of 3D

The quality of the conversion doesn't bode well if its not coming out in some of the biggest markets. Seems like a cheap cash in for the Asian market mostly.

The article states that the conversion is being done at a cost of 10 million.

And, I suspect, the US studio not being a fan of the movie.

If they didn't like the movie they wouldn't have bankrolled it in the first place.

Mind as big of a fan of his work as I am, I have absolutely no interest whatsoever in seeing this.

There's a difference between a studio bankrolling a project on director name value, and finding a prime release slot for the finished product...

This doesn't seem like it wants to be taken as seriously as Passion. I actually really want to see it and wouldn't mind importing it to see it in 3D. The visual effects and scale of the arc would be enhanced if done correctly.

Thumbs up

This looks good. Saw the trailer in IMAX 3D when I recently went to see Gravity again.

I'm so jealous lol xD I hope the conversion looks good I'm still seriously angry that they are screwing over the U.S. and other countries from the 3D version (and Darren Aronofsky seriously needs to try out 3d for himself before bashing it so much. Seriously....)

Yup, just like with all those other Darren Aronosky films.

While Mel Gibson is an ultra conservative Christian who was spreading the word, I doubt that a Jewish art house auteur like Aronofski is making this film to appeal exclusively to the Bible Belt.

Yeah, seniors dig Requiem For A Dream, especially the

I would consider this film if it's in 3D, and Ray Winstone has a considerable role in it (Beowulf 3D). I didn't see a lot of action, and imagine it's a story driven movie about gathering supplies and defying the trouble makers as Russell Crowe builds the ship. It could be interesting.

The trailer we have for this in the UK gives the impression that there is quite a bit of action and CGI set pieces etc. Fingers crossed this won't be some ponderous affair and also that this apparent 3D conversion will be easy enough to obtain on Blu.

Now there's a film that needs to be released on 3D Blu-ray! Saw it in IMAX 3D way back when and was blown away by some of the pop-outs. Hopefully Noah gets a 3D Blu-ray release as well.

I test-ordered it and it came to $39.10 for me.
Shipping varies, but you're in the States too, so it should be similar.

It will probably drop in price before release date.
