I have the Capricorn One Blu-ray that was released some years ago. That disc contains the 123 minute version. Since I have never seen the 129 minute extended version, I am curious if anyone can provide some details on which scenes are added or extended and how the story is advanced or enhanced by this additional material.

RE: Longer runtime

After watching my copy, the 129-minute Japanese cut has minor differences that I appreciated, but they don't significantly alter the viewing experience. When considering multiple purchases of this film, I would say look beyond the extended runtime for substantial additional content to justify the expense.

That said, I'll probably buy this new Imprint version as well, if only to influence the universe into producing a 4K version. It happens every time!

Ha!

I saw something recently that possibly debunked the glove didn't fit theory: his lawyer told him to stop taking his anti-inflammatory medicine a day or two before trying on the glove, and he wore clear, thin gloves to keep his skin from contaminating the evidence. I think Lost Highway is the best movie about his supposed dissociative, or psychogenic fugue, I've ever seen. As David Lynch said, he was fascinated by how someone could commit murder one day and then play golf the next.

I don't want to derail the thread, as the actions of one actor should not affect a film, at least not for me.

Ordered a copy. Bummed it's not a fresh scan on 4K but it's a very nice looking set nonetheless.

I love Daniel Waters and am really interested to hear his thoughts on the film. I’ve seen him at Q&A’s in Los Angeles, and he’s ****ing hilarious

Just watching the Network release of Capricorn One and have been struck by how crystal clear some scenes are…and how others seem nearly shot out of focus…and how yet others are fuzzy around the edges. I have loved this film from the first time I saw it…and have watched it often since then..but never noticed (or paid attention) to these faults before.
So…is it purely the way the film was photographed? If so, no version will, ever look better than what is presented here. The impending Imprint release does not mention remastered…even if it was, you cant remaster unfocused shots into focussed shots. Anyone have any input on my questions?

I considered posting in the Aussie International thread but it’s 10 years old.
Anyway, received my shipping notice for the Imprint release today.

I'd like to know if Imprint will release a slimmed-down 2-disc standard edition. They did a similar release of "The Warriors" by including the theatrical and directors' cuts in a 1500-limited box set and following up with a standard 2-disc edition. I don't have the shelf space for all these bloated boxes-- on top of already owning the rare 2-disc Japanese Blu-ray.

I got the Imprint version the other day. The dialogue seems to be dialled way down. Had to play around with my settings to hear half of it.

I hate when discs are like that!
That right there tells me not to buy this and wait for U.S. version.

They are a good company. Bought a few things from them. I just found the sound mix a bit wonky. It really stood out when I watched the extras and had to quickly turn the volume down from where I had it watching the movie. I am not an expert on sound and image though.

Why? There’s no guarantee a flub like that couldn’t occur with a U.S. edition. I was waiting on a 4K but I don’t know when and if Shout will release that and I doubt they will license the slightly longer cut.
