Does anyone know if the UK version is region free and whether the specs are the same as the US version?

It is infact region free, just gotr my copy on monday night and it states A,B,C on the back cover and it seems to have all the same features as the US version and 3d glasses too.

Is the 2D disc on Blu-ray as well? I read somewhere that the 2D disc is on DVD only...

The US version has both the 3D and the 2D version in HD (on Blu-ray).

Yeah, but if you read on that sticker, it says 2D DVD version...

They probably meant "2D home video version" or something.
I watched this release last night, and the 2D version is definitely included.

I can confirm that the 2D version is included on the Blu-ray disc. It asks you to choose which version you wish to view as the disc boots up.

So what is the deal with the 3D is it blu-red, purple/yellow, clear glasses? And how does it look?!

Compared to the US-version, I think it is great that it also seems to be region-free (also Lionsgate), but it contains 'only' 2 pairs of glasses in stead of the 4 pairs included with US-version. On the other hand, the disc is MUCH cheaper in the UK (less than £10) than in the US; a great deal actually!

The weird thing is that I have been told by three eBay-sellers that the 2D-version on this UK-disc has the OAR 1.85:1, with tiny black bars on top and bottom, but that the 3D-version is reframed at 1.78:1 (or 16:9) without any bars

. If so, then there is no 'seamless branching', but the entire movie on the disc twice! Can Somebody please confirm this?

it Magenta-Green I think don't have the case with me to check em.

I thought it look pretty good better than what i was expecting. didnt get to see it in cinemas so can't compared it to that. but for colour coded based it works well enough.

I just popped this in my PS4 and it's downloading updates? What on Earth? I've never seen anything like this before.

Yesterday I took a look at my anaglyph 3D Canadian F13th 3D blu-ray and was actually quite pleased with the end results. So I also ordered this despite never seeing it before. Hopefully the wife and I will have a fun time with stuff pokin' us in the eyes!

There doesn't seem to be very many anaglyph blu-rays available - I guess that it was soon rendered obsolete by the rise of true 3D technology. Is this remake (and the anaglyph 3D) any good? I very much like the original film.

I didn't even know there was an anaglyph version of this, too. Was it downloading the updates on the "real" 3D edition or the anaglyph one?

Been looking into official anaglyph releases and have discovered these following blu-rays:

Coraline
Polar Express
Region friendly US and Canadian F13th 3D
Journey To The Center Of The Earth
My Bloody Valentine (well, natch!)
Jackass 3
Piranha 3D
Final Destination 3D
Some teenybopper nonsense

There's probably a few more than that.

Obviously superior but it also requires specialised equipment which is pretty darn pricey. Anaglyph 3D is just a bit of harmless fun for folks with standard set-ups.

I do have a couple of anaglyph 3D films on Blu-ray. This and Coraline. The green / pink glasses actually work surprisingly well, given my memories of trying to watch films with the old red / blue glasses. I'm very doubtful I'd ever invest in a 3D set-up, so this does the job on a rare occasion I watch them back in 3D.

As Symbiotic says, a bit of harmless fun

Disc arrived today. Put it in the PS4 to see what would happen and it loaded almost straight away. A box that said "checking for updates" did appear but it quickly moved past that.
