I've always been told this was a good show, I might go ahead and check it out.

Great show btw, I own all the DVD sets (well, HD DVD for season 6) & am a proud owner of all! Don't think I'll upgrade though.

Sopranos season 1 was one of the worst video quality shows in my collection, so I'll likely pick this up. I'm just worried about them not releasing the other seasons if sales are lower than expected.

*EDIT*
I just noticed this is the UK release date, but maybe they'll come out the same day?
I can't believe this came out 4.5 years ago and I'm just finding out now!

I thought Warner did fine with True Blood and Smallville, although Chuck was lacking. I would hope they do a proper release because they are taking their time and hopefully using it get a good transfer.

Nonsense. David Chase wouldn't allow it. Expect top shelf audio, video and overall technical presentation.

WB does a shitty job on their non-HBO shows (look at my avatar, I'm no WB fan) but all the HBO Blu-ray releases to date look AMAZING and have DTS-HD MA audio. So you have nothing to worry about with The Sopranos. Don't take my word for it though, just check out the reviews on this very site for Band Of Brothers, True Blood and Generation Kill.

The show may have a 4:3 aspect ratio in the first few seasons though since that was quite a while back and they were not making the show with HD in mind back then.

Personally, I'll wait for a Complete Series set before I bite. Same goes for Six Feet Under.
