Has there been any word if or when The Big Lebowski is releasing on blu? I had the HD-DVD but have since sold it and I'm really starting to go through withdrawls and I don't want to get the regular dvd if I don't have to.

It was pretty good....I'd give it a solid 4 outta 5. I remember a couple shots that looked a little soft but you find that in almost every older title. Definitely worth the upgrade if you're a fan of The Dude!

OMG, I was so bummed when they re released the Special Edition DVD and it wasn't on Blu.

I LOVE this movie.

Check my collection, I have the Special Edition DVD with the bowling ball case.

I bought an HD DVD drive just so I could watch The Big Lebowski on HD DVD. The extras are a bit lame but nevermind. I would kill to get this on Blu Ray.

The PQ on the HD DVD is often criticised and their is some edge enhancement. It is certainly soft with inconsistant contrast, however the colours are vivid and it is clearly more detailed than the DVD. The sound is good and the dialogue is clear (as it was on the DVD).

I'd say that the PQ is on balance pretty good and frankly it isn't the sort of film you watch for the stunning visuals.
