I got my Samsung 1200 2 days ago & have had zero problems. So far I have watched POTC 1&2, Unforgiven & The Queen. The load times are fast, POTC 1 took 12 sec & POTC 2 took 14 sec to load.

& I player the 'Lairs' games on POTC & no problem & the game loaded in about 20sec

I've had the Sammy for about 3 months now, and I'm pretty happy with it. The load times are pretty quick, and seem to be much faster than the Sony (based on what I've read here).

Picture Quality is great for both BD and DVD. Sound quality is pretty good.

My only gripe is that when you play a DVD with a 4:3 aspect ratio, it stretches it to 16:9. I haven't found any way to turn that off, but fortunately I can unstretch it with my TV.

Clyon - I'm curious. My 1200 (with firmware updated) loads the POTC BD's in about 40 seconds from tray closing. It's hard to believe you experience 12 seconds! My question - did you have to download the firmware update when you got your unit? If not, it looks like Samsung has improved the loading time for the player on these BD-J releases but have not made that available to us who've had the player for a while.
Thanks,
Mark

I got the player on the 5th of this month & have not checked if there is a update. The build date is 5/2007. I just re-checked the time & I got 24 sec. on POTC 1 from closing the tray to the 'Walt Disney' advert.

Your answer tells me that your unit has the updated firmware already installed otherwise you would not be able to play POTC at all. The 24 sec. load time is in fact faster than my firmware-updated player so it also suggests that your firmware version is more advanced than the update on the Samsung web site. If you have the Deja Vu BD see if you can play it through without any freezing. I wonder if your unit has a fix embedded for that problem. FYI, my build date is 3/2007.
