United Kingdom Terminator Salvation

Apparently we are getting the version shown in cinemas, and our friends across the pond are getting an unrated directors cut, ala Watchmen.

Warner have the rights in the US, so I'm sure it'll be Region Free.

If that's the case, why has the amazon.co.uk listing been amended today to say it's the extended cut?

Whoa! I've pre-ordered the limited edition steelbook from Play.com, does anyone know if this is the theatrical or extended cut?

No word had been mentioned on what sony is giving us. Amazon as Today popcultureboy said that they are listing an extended cut.

I know sony will do the theatrical cut on DVD but given sonys push for Extended cuts on blu-ray only most likely to get the fans onto blu-ray (Angels and deamons, Davinci Code so far are extended and sure there will be more to come) I am more likely to belive that sony will deliver the extended cut on blu-ray but not DVD.

The steel book will contain the exact same disk as the regular blu-ray version. If the regular blu-ray gets the extended cut then you get the extended cut as well.

All I seen is an announcement, a date and some features for the blu-ray but no mention of what version we will get or the blu-ray specs.

I hope the UK gets the extended cut, because I trust Sony to do a better job on the disc. But Warner kept the extended version of Watchmen for themselves, so this may happen again with Terminator.

I don't know the full story but given paramouts recient behaviour with blu-rays and theatrical cuts I think it was more a paramount decision then a warner. It may of been a rights issue but also I read somewhere that paramount might do the directors cut futher down the line (can't remember where).

Paramount seem to be doing the distrubition of watchment worldwide other then the US so I can't belive paramount would not have access to the directors cut.

I hope so dude, the steelbook looks nice but I'd rather have the extended cut wrapped in an old banana skin than the theatrical wrapped in metal.

Amazon are taking pre-orders for the extended cut so it's definitely available here in the UK, runtime is listed as 115 minutes, sadly theres no runtime listed for the steel on play.com to compare.

Since its a play.com exclusive the steelbook play have paied for a different packaging. Sony won't just produce a different blu-ray disk just for play.com and another for the rest of the world or countries the disk will be distrubited in.

Well, 115 minutes was the theatrical cut running time. And I can find no mention anywhere on the BBFC of classification details for anything on the blu ray release. IMDb already has the R classification noted for the Director's Cut, but no mention of a running time. The plot thickens.

None of which means anything, especially Amazon's specs.

That realy bugs me when people quote amazon for blu-rays and they take it as gosple.

The blu-rays the specs are totally wrong from amazon.
