Default Getting some hours on the Panasonic V10 TV

And trying out some new settings. Just threw in Cars, and I have to say that it's never looked better. Check out the new screenshots:

Edit: uploaded full-size pix, and got rid of enhancements. Better.

I love this display.

While I have the G10, what settings are you trying? I used the Spears and Munsil disc on mine and am pretty happy with the results.

Congrats on the TV. I have the older 850u model and LOVE it.

I saw the V10 yesterday for the first time in person. I thought it was stunning and looked better than the KURO ELITE it was sitting next to. Granted, they were probably not calibrated identically, but it just looked better, IMO.

Those screen shots look awesome. I just got a G10 also. How long do you have to wait to get it calibrated correctly.

I talked myself out of getting the 65" V10 even though the wife entertained the thought of putting my XBR in the bedroom. Not now, not yet....

Congrats on the purchase! You have one of the best TVs in the market IMO.

I used the DVE disc, then tweaked a little more to my liking. I figure, accurate is one thing...but if I like it better when I deviate from "accurate", then so be it. I'm still playing around, but it really looks awesome right now. I think the panel is really setting in...I'm probably approaching 750-850 hours at this point.

I use Custom, and right now, I'm at:
Contrast = 75
Brightness = 65
Color = 54
Tint = +2
Sharpness = +75 (although this doesn't seem to do much)

Color Temp = Warm2
Color Management = On
Digital Cinema Color = On
CATS = Off
Video NR = Off

(Pro Settings)
All fine tune color adjustments are currently @ 0
Black extension = +2
Gamma adjustment = Mid
Panel Brightness = Mid
Contour Emphasis & AGC are Off

(Advanced)
Enhancements are off
Black Level = Light
HD Size = 2
And for the screenshots, the 24p was set to 48Hz. I actually like this mode for a lot of films. I don't find the 'flicker' at all a deterrent unless the move is super-bright, and as I've said before, I find the picture has more depth in 48Hz mode. I do switch back & forth between it and 96Hz.

I'm toying with setting the Gamma at Full2 with the panel brightness set at Low in the Pro Settings...have to spend some time with it this weekend.

None of this is measured...just what looks good to me.

I envy you. That is a fantastic TV. But the TV can't be that old. Would you expect anything different? And do you think you would be able to notice an incremental decline in PQ?

I don't understand the question. I have no expectations or preconceived notions regarding what this display is going to do, outside of powering on when I press the button. I'm merely sharing a couple great screenshots and my experiences with it a few months in. Do you take issue with that?

Again with the bizarre questions. I clearly noticed an incremental incline in PQ (hence this thread), so I fully expect to notice if it goes downhill. Why would it, and why do you ask?

Oh, so you were just posting to show off the TV? I thought you were making a comment on how well it's holding up. Sorry.

I guess that's one way to look at it.
