i got my 50inch plasma yesterday and i really like the picture quality, but when i get close to the tv like to switch it of i see the icons of my ps3 in double.
is this normal ?

Yep. You're seeing the image reflecting on the back of the second (outermost) sheet of glass. It's only an issue close up AND at an angle.

Solution - use your remote to switch off the display.
