Default Ordinary DVDs on a blue ray player

I filmed a wedding for a friend. using Adobe premier elements put it on a normal dvd. My friend played it on her blue ray player and it sticks and jumps after 35 mins. I am not familiar with blue ray so I am at a loss as to what the problem is. The Dvd works fine on normal dvd players. can anyone help.

Irene.

What playback software are you using, on the PC? Perhaps try another option?

Like any burned disc try a different brand and burn it slower like 4X
as for Blu ray it won't matter at all, because you burn't a standard DVD not a blu ray disc.
also use a DVD-R disc instead of a DVD+R the -R are more compatible with some players.

Just my experience, but I have a dvd that is extremely slow, wont load the menu, etc on my blu ray player, but is fine a standard dvd player. I haven't yet tried it on another player so maybe its just my standalone blu ray that has some issues.

Default Can't playback any DVD burned!

Hello,

I’m having difficulty identifying the correct video format to convert, in order for the file I burn to play on my Sony BDP-S360 blu-ray player.

I realize that this player does not play DivX file format, but I’ve tried several others with no success.

VOB, MP4, DVD – MPEG2, PS3

I download the movies from either bit-torrent, or Limewire.

I don’t want to continue wasting blank DVD’s trying to solve this. A heads up on what format to use would be extremely helpful.

I’m burning using Intervideo WinDVD Creator, and HP DVD Writer 630c.

My player supposedly plays data files of several DVD discs, and I’m using Sony DVD – R, and set to NTSC.

I use the VSO Inspector, and there are no errors on the disc. I also use ACSWARE Video Converter.

I don't think it will just play a VOB file and it doesn't say that it plays any of those other types of files. Is this HD video you are trying to play? You could make an AVCHD disc and it should play.

You would have to actually make a video DVD and not just burn the file to the DVD. Also this forum has strict Anti-Piracy rules so you may want to keep the mentioning of downloading movies from Bit-torrent sites and Limewire to a minimum.

Why? There are many you can download in such a way that is completely legal, for example several fan made star wars movies (eg: star wars revelations) etc. But I agree, it tends to be used for illegal purposes which should be punished.
