Default The Best Intentions - Den goda Viljan

Now finally, there is a new DVD release of this wonderful Movie/television series by Bille August with a manuscript by Ingmar Bergman. It is only released in Sweden however and without English subtitles. (http://www.discshop.se/shop/ds_produ...e=movies&&ref=)

Is there any chance this comes out on blu-ray? We have waited for this on DVD forever, but it would be fantastic if it came out on blu. I have always wondered why Criterion or MoC never jumped on this one. After all the movie version won the palmes d'or!

Well, this thread should go to the wishlist section but I would be interested too in a Bluray of this.
Who has the rights?
Can Criterion release it?
Or Eureka or someone?

this has been on my wish list for years (and I've been buggin' Criterion for it) - specifically the longer TV mini-series cut.

Maybe MortenR should update the first post with the news of its release in early 2016 so that we make this the official thread of this upcoming release?
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-B...lu-ray/146136/

Still wonder what cut they will include.

Any updates on this if it will be only the theatrical version?
I guess based on the amazon duration it is?

Strange though that this thread doesn't have more posts.
Well, i guess if it isn't Criterion, then the film is of no interest.

They call it "a film by" on the front cover, and it's only 1 disc, so that also points to it just being another release of the abridged version.

From what I've seen (on screencaps), it doesn't seem to be a brand new restoration but it seems to look quite good. Grain seems a bit coarse, giving a sligthtly electronic look to the picture but it seems otherwise unfiltered.
