Hmm..The official site only says about the DVD which includes one new documentary and not the 4 and bluray release that the link you gave said.

Thumbs up

Is this actually worth the watch, what's it about?

I was given a free copy by the distributors on DVD when I recieved a faulty DVD of another movie but I never got around to watching it, I sold it as it was some kind of collectors edition.

Found some information posted at:

http://www.sexgoremutants.co.uk/cgi-...m=1257364770/3

"Xavier runs the Cult Film Archive at Brunel University (which I am a student at) and last week, in conjunction with the Brunel Cult Film Society (which I'm president of) screened the Suspiria documentary which will be included the on Suspiria blu-ray.

He said the blu ray is finished and will be released in January 2010. The documentary lasted for about an hour and is made up of all new interview footage, including an interview with Argento in which he makes some pretty interesting comments about the misogynistic aspects of his films.

He said a "press screening" of the blu ray has already taken place and it got an overwhelmingly good response. He also said that a seperate blu ray version of the film has already been released in Italy, but it got such bad reviews that Cine Excess decided to do it properly themselves. "

I sent off the cover of my Limited Edition DVD to the main actress several years ago to get autographed. she never got it and it never got 'returned to sender'. I hope the Blu-Ray has all the features the DVD did, so I can biff the crappy printout cover I use lol

Its a wonderful movie...but its not really scary. I think modern horror fans that love all the torture-porn and slasher films nowadays will be a bit bemused by SUSPIRIA. The story is slight and you couldn't really recommend it for the acting...but its like nothing else. The sound..the colours...the shots...wow!
Dario once was a great film maker....sad to see his career going down the toilet nowadays.
SUSPIRIA is the kind of movie Blu-Ray was Made for..it it isn't botched.

That 52 min docu is about the making of the film, and it interviews key cast and crew members. It appears on the US Anchor Bay 3 discer and on the Blue Underground re-release. The Nouveaux extras are composed of the new Jones/Newman commentary, and around an hours worth of exclusive new material composed of 4 featurettes. Fans will certainly still want to also retain their previous US versions for that original documentary.

This might very well be the definitive edition. The current BU/AB version suffers from missing sound effects and dialogue.

Hi there! I'm DartDVD from Italy!

A BD version of Suspiria already came out in Italy, but in my opinion the master is completely screwed by overexposure and color ipersaturation.

The producers say the new master was approved by the DP himself but I can't believe this is true (and many insiders told me it's not).

To understand what I'm talking about, just look at theese comparison I made between the italian BD and the Anchorbay U.S. DVD:

I really hope the UK BD will use the Acnhor Bay master, and ours.

I love the cover art
lol
Cant wait for this.

And BU/AB will NOT release any more versions of Suspiria. The Wienstines have full rights and are not very blu friendly. So I would not hold out.
