Default AMAZON vs. WALMART Let the WAR BEGIN!

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/11/24/business/24shop.html

Heard about AMAZON and WALMART online going toe toe. Here is an article from the NEW YORK TIMES. This Holiday season could boast some good deals. GO AMAZON! I will never shop from the evil EMPIRE!

True, should be off Topic but how low is WAL*MART willing to go? I imagine they can't match or keep pace with AMAZON esp. No shipping, no tax - Thats what keeps me hooked! Oh, to answer the question about WAL*MART represents everything thats wrong with AMERICA to me. I'll leave it there!

One nice thing is that Best Buy won't price match Amazon, but they will price match Walmart.

You might open up a wormhole asking about Walmart, but the more common criticisms are related to their labor practices, and bullying in the marketplace. Why other companies get a free pass (I'm pretty sure Amazon's no saint) is beyond me. I guess it's easier to pick on WM.

There was also that ordeal of Walmart taking out life insurance policies on their senior employees (i.e.- door greeters) and also their threat of firing any employee who posed in Playboy's Women of Walmart special.

I have never had an especially pleasing experience at Walmart. They sell cheap sh*t, have almost zero customer assistance and are rarely fully stocked. That said, I am a cheapskate, so if the prices are the same I would go to Walmart so I don't have to wait for the item to be shipped. But since you never know if they'll even have the item on the shelf I certainly wouldn't make a special trip for it.
