Default Samsung 46 1080p/120hz/ LED

Model #UN46B7100

I'm currently about to pull the trigger and pick this TV up UNLESS somebody can convince me otherwise. I do not have much TV knowledge but here are the reasons I was wanting this particular TV: Its a Samsung, its the size I was looking for, I am really digging that thin look, and finally its internet connectivity. Im just trying to get opinions if this is a good set?

Samsung makes excellent LCD TV's....neck and neck with Sony....I think that would make an excellent addition to your room.

7100 I think is the best buy exclusive. It is pretty much identical to the 7000s in amazon. You might want to check there for a better deal.

I am sometimes reluctant to go with store exclusives such as in sams and walmart because sometimes it seems they cut corners to lower the price. However, I do not think it is the case with this model.

Well my Grandparents are picking this TV up today from Best Buy for my Fiance and I as our wedding gift so I will let you guys know what I think. One thing I did notice is that there is no ethernet port, but instead you must purchase a adapter for 70 bucks to receive wireless internet, kind of a pain.

Default It does not have local dimming

That led tv does not have local dimming (deepest black levels) but uses edge lit dimming (led bulbs are installed on the sides).

Go get the Samsung 46A950 from Amazon (back lit led, local dimming)!

Welcome aboard scotty. Dont have your brand of tv but I am sure alot of other memebers can give you their veiws about Samsungs tv's because we have alot of Sammy loyalists here. But again welcome aboard.

Ok I have a stupid question so please bare with me.

I was in Best Buy the other day and I looked at the Samsung LED. They had it playing King Kong on Blu-Ray. The settings (Color, Brightness, etc.) appeared to be turned basically all the way up. It looked great, but what really caught my eye was the way the frames were moving. It was as if the frame rate was really fast or something. Is that what was going on? Was it the 120hz or what?

If so then why would my Panasonic TCP54s1 not look like that when It has 600hz?

Im sure best buy had the TV in 'torch mode'. The TV's anti judder and motion enhancer was probably cranked to the max just like the picture settings. Your TV is 600Hz sub field drive, totally different than 120Hz refresh rate on an LCD.

Ok that makes sense. Thanks for the help!

The only difference between the two are the colour of the bezel. The 7000 has "Touch of colour" red and the 7100 has "Touch of colour" gray. Other then that, they are identical.
