wow I love that artwork... extras appear the same as the US at first glance. but that artwork is worth the purchase alone.

where can we get it?

This release is a waste of money (and discs). The UK release has all these special features and more (it has some lengthy bonus interviews not included in neither the US or this release) on a single BD disc, and it's quite cheap.

This release is probably using a single layer disc, why else did they bump the extras to a separate DVD?

are you refering to the word 'Chainsaw' not being 'Chain Saw'?

-'Off The Hook' - an interview with Teri McMinn
-Interview with Production Manager Ron Bozman
-'The Shocking Truth' documentary

-'Shocking Truth' outtakes
-'Flesh Wounds' documentary

-Interview with writer Kim Henkel
-Outtakes and deleted scenes
-Trailers, TV and radio spots
-Bloopers
-Stills gallery

Or to make it simple, everything from this German release (same as the US release) + "Interview with director Tobe Hooper" + "Interview with writer Kim Henkel" + "Interview with Production Manager Ron Bozman". The 3 interviews amount to over 40 minutes.

Default Question:

Does anybody know if there is a difference in picture quality between these two releases? I am wondering if I should get the 2022 3 disc release or just settle having the 2016 release. I was not sure if the picture quality is much of a difference between the two. Thanks.

The 2016 release:

The 2016 release:

Attachment 277950

The 2022 release:

Attachment 277951
The 2016 release does not have HDR.

PQ from all the recent BD's and UHD's are more or less similar, as the source material is rather limited to begin with.

Grain structure is said to be better on all the UHD releases, but it's most likely a very slight improvement.

This is a comparison between the Second Sight BD and the Turbine UHD 2016.

I like the movie for what it represents and I like the low budget horror, but yea, it's no Halloween so to speak.

My favorite is actually part 2.

I saw that this film has multiple different covers. Looking at them, all of them say Region B except one.

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-T...lu-ray/251970/

This particular one 2 users claim the Blu-Ray with the film is Region free. Cover looks ugly.

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-T...lu-ray/316260/

This one I am interested in comes from the exact same company and is actually a steelbook variant cover, however it says it is Region B locked.

I contacted the company on both and they said they are Region B locked. My questions are if they are all from the same company, are they locked Region B or are they Region Free and if the 1st one is Region Free wouldn't they all be that way not just that one variant cover?

Does anyone have the 2nd cover which is a replica of the original artwork and can confirm or deny that the Blu-Ray with the film is Region Free or it is locked? If that is the case why wouldn't the others be the same? I am looking for this film that has both a 4K and Blu-Ray and not wanting to spend all that money on a stupid chainsaw edition I'll end up throwing away and keeping just the film and spending over $130 to get just a film is ridiculous. Thanks for any help.

Just checked the discs of the 2022 3-Disc release on my Pioneer BDP-450 with CFW
[Show spoiler]In the console modding scene many call it Cracked FirmWare, while it actually stands for Custom FirmWare to the best of my knowledge, but in my case it stands for Chinese FirmWare

The disc with the film plays fine on my Pioneer set to region A (This is a dedicated region A or C player, but I don't remember having any region C discs.)
However playing the Bonus disc resulted in the following image:

So its the same as rallymonkey said for the 2019 release.
