Default Hannibal Lector Movies

Has anyone seen any of these movies? I am going to watch Hannibal Rising tomorrow and wanted to know if it is really gory or if we get to see him eat people? I don't really like gore and can't watch anything that deals with eye's or anything really bad. I don't think I will be able to watch Silence of the Lambs with all the face ripping and stuff.

Isn't Hannibal Rising supposed to be one of the worst movies ever made? I've never seen it, just heard that somewhere.

Not sure trailer looked good and it is a prequel so I just started with that one.

I would say they all have some gore and grisly violence excluding Rising and Manhunter because I have not seen it but Red Dragon is awesome.

Just curious, your avatar suggests you like Dexter but you do not like gore? I know Dexter isn't too gory but there is certainly a lot of blood.

They're not that bad to be honest, I don't mind violence at all and I'm sure the violence in Silence is pretty dated. Red Dragon and Hannibal are kind of violent...but not that bad. And it isn't real.

Michael Mann's "Manhunter" and Jonathan Demme's "Silence of the Lambs" are my faves. I've got Silence... on blu and waiting til Manhunter is available as a standalone release.

You worried about gore yet you have an avatar of dexter?

I can't really answer you question, but I guess it is gory

I can watch blood no problem I just can't watch things like an eye getting poked out or a head getting ripped open stuff like the saw movies. Dexter is just blood which I can watch. But I read that Hannibal or someone rips out a guys tongue with his mouth stuff like that I can't really stomach.

I won't spoilt it but something like that happens in one of the movies. I would say Hannibal has the most gore but Red Dragon has some. If I recall, the scene you mention in the OP is not shown on-screen really. I wouldn't compare the gore in this franchise to that of Saw.

You should really only watch the first 2 anyway.. Manhunter and Silence. The rest are garbage.

I personally find "Hannibal Rising" the worst of the 'series' of films. It felt to me like alot of other lackluster horror movies, just with the legendary Hannibal character as the main player. After watching the film, the thought that quickly jumped to mind was "this was alot like Hostel... that sucks". Not because Hostel is terrible (nothing issue entirely) but because it just didn't feel very new or original - unlike The Silence of the Lambs.
