Australia Speaker Upgrade time

G'day all,

I've got $2000 to spend which equates to around $1752 US.

I currently have HTiB, Yamaha 5.1 speakers/sub which are at there limits so i would like to upgrade.

I have a 50inch Full HD Samsung Plasma, Onkyo 607 Receiver and using HDMI for both Audio & Visual.

Just from the Receiver, True HD/HDMA is amazing but i want more...

My room is 12ft long x 10ft wide.

Basically, i'm looking for a decent centre, front 2, rear 2 and a good sub for around the $2000 AU mark. Budget is flexible but i'd like to keep it around that.

If your recommended speakers/sub need wires/plugs etc, please state.

Help would be appreciate guys.

Thanks!

TV is on a Wall Bracket mate so it's not sitting on anything.

I currently have a bookshelf centre so i may have to stick with that unless i can make some sort of riser or shelf which shouldn't be an issue.

You could all ways just upgrade your L/C/R and sub and then use the htib speakers for sides and surrounds. 95% of the audio usually comes from the front soundstage anyway. So those will be the speakers that you want to shine.

That way you could go all out and get some really NICE speakers and go with a 7.1 system!

haha that's a great idea but 1 small issue, the rears are actually up the back of the room.

For example, i'm sitting 8ft away from my tv and the rears are in line with me. I almost sit against a wall.
