Default 2-channel pre with HDMI input?

Is there such a beast?

If I maintained my current Denon and got a 2-channel pre, is there one that would support the HDMI from my Apple TV? How would I even run video?

I think I would need to stay with an AV pre. Don't you think?

Why would you want 2 channel from your apple tv? Just hook it into the denon and select stereo. Just wondering what your plans are here. I'm not sure of a 2 channel pre with hdmi. Don't think there would be many if any at all. Fyi you should bought the classe amps. Screw the washer.

Yeah. They were the CAM 350's. They are not the Delta Series like Brain's SSP-800 and CA-5200. I actually like the look MUCH better!

I would have loved to see them on either side of my cabinet.

Just curious Lou, I now it's Classe but why would you buy those over the XPA1's? Seems like the XPA1 produces much more power. Just curious when people seem amps what is there to look for besides specs?

Well, these originally got some really rave reviews. I also REALLY like the Classe sound paired with B&W. Since these were local, I would not have to worry about shipping two 80-90 pound amps.

I also REALLY like the look of the CAM-350's. Always have. not a big fan of the Delta Series look. Maybe if they came out with a black finish, I would like them more.

I would like to hear the XPA-1's though to see if there is any difference between them and the XPA-5. An interesting fact was that I like the Rotel 1575 paired with the B&W XT8's but not the 804S's. But I loved the Classe/804 pairing when I heard them (in the show room). I could not imagine taking one home to listen for a week or two.

Sounds good to me! I would love to get two Mc 501's. But for now I am going to settle for two XPA1's. Your dealer sells the 350's for only 3500?

No. Second hand market. I wish I could get a pair new for that price. I think that is what they list for new -- $3500 EACH.

I think you can buy a PS audio perfect wave DAC and have it function as a preamp as well. I know it has an hdmi input as it's meant to be paired with the perfect wave transport. I believe retail is $3000, but I recall seeing one person being able to get one for $2200 new.

Edit: It does indeed serve as both a preamp and a dac. More info here, http://www.psaudio.com/ps/products/d...-dac?cat=audio

Second Edit: After looking over the manual, it looks like the HDMI input will only accept I squared S data, which means only the PWT can be connected to the PWD via HDMi if this indeed the case.
