I have a regular Sony DVD player and a Kenwood receiver that have multi channel out and inputs. With standard DVD will I notice a difference? I am running an optic cable currently.
My ps3 does not have multi channel so I wanted to find out if I could hear a difference in my other theater. |

Since you have a regular dvd player and a PS3. The answer is no. The multi channel input on your receiver is for when you have a device that can decode a audio signal that the receiver can not.
Example Dolby Digital HD, your receiver does not decode this. So, if you wanted to hear it you would need a player that can decode the signal and also has multi channel output so you can run the decoded audio into your receiver. Hope this helps |
