Bourne Franchise Vs. current Bond Franchise (D Craig) - Blu-ray Forum

I just got finished watching all three Bourne flicks, and let me tell you for my money right now these "Spy" flicks got Bond beat.

More action Better cinematography.

Don't get me wrong I love Bond but this next one is gonna have to be great to keep up with Bourne

I think all 3 of the Bourne movies are better than Quantum of Solace, but Casino Royale holds its own if not beats any of the Bourne movies and im a die hard Bourne fan. Will be interested to see if the next bond can get back on par with Casino Royale

The first Bourne movie and Casino Royale are the best of the 5 IMO. I just don't like the quick cut action scenes and the shakey cam style of the rest.

Funny and I am the opposite of almost everyone to the fact that I loved QOS more than Casino

They should just call Green Zone a Bourne movie!! It's a Greengrass directed secret ops type movie anyway.

Yes i agree on this, the fight scenes were amazing in BI but the shakey i really hated in Supremacy but was fine with it in Ultimatum for some reason. If they had kept the same director with the same style of scenes i would say hands down all the bournes are better.

Probably why I didn't mind Cloverfield either.

Funny, I was fine with Cloverfield because the parts filmed that way were from someone's hand cam (one of the characters in the movie).

I recently finally got to see the Bourne films. No offense to anyone who likes them or anything, but personally, I hated them. I believe my initial scores were 2.5/5 for the first two and 2/5 for the 3rd, but a day or two after thinking about them I would lower them to 2/5 for the first two and 1.5/5 for the 3rd. The movies didn't click with me at all.

Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace however, I love. Either a 5/5 or a 4.5/5 for both.

My list would go:
Casino Royale: 10/10
Quantum of Solace: 7/10
The Bourne Identiy: 8/10
The Bourne Supremecy: 6/10
The Bourne Ultimatum: 8/10

I still prefer the Bond movies but I really hated how the producers tried to go the Bourne route with the quick cuts. Next Bond movie better go back to what Casino Royale perfected.

All 3 Bourne flicks are pretty solid, but while I think Casino Royale beat them all, the new Bond fell off a cliff with QoS which is an utterly inept action film.

It's like comparing Apples to Mangos.

However, I will say this. If you watch Quantum right after Royale, it's actually quite an amazing film. However, if you watch it by itself, its rather average. I don't really know how to explain it.

You said almost word for word what I was going to say. I only really like the first Bourne and Casino Royale. I think Quantum of Solace was a step backwards for the franchise and Bourne 2/3 are completely unwatchable.

The major changes were the second unit director and editor. Both were replaced by guys that had worked on the Bourne series. EON did such a dumbass move with that. How can they replace the 2nd unit director and editor that worked on the infamous African Rundown.

Love the new Bond movies.

Didn't like Bourne much. The first one was ok. I liked Franka's character most and I think she was barely in either following movie.

The only single thing I have against the new Bond movies is in the first one (Casino Royale) there were no sexy girls in the opening credits. That's been something in EVERY James Bond movie and I thought getting away from that was too much. I still feel a little ripped off by those opening titles.

I think I may get the Bourne movies on Blu at some point or at least the first one. They don't "get" me like they do a lot of other people.

I would have to go with Bond! I love the way Daniel Craig plays the role! I am also a Bourne fan....just not as much as a BOND fan

QoS was pure suckage. Casino was a great film but all three Bourne films are really good too so as of right now the correct answer would be the Bourne films.

* But Connery Bonds are so much better than them all.
