Default D2 (Dreamcast)

Has anyone heard of this in name only sequel to D, which the only thing common is the game's actress (Laura). It's from director Kenji Eno when the Company WARP was going bankrupted. The game was controversial for some of it's content and Y2K conspiracy, but it was highly acclaimed for it's storytelling and cinematics (think a Horror Metal gear solid). The thing for me is something about the design of the creatures from the screens seems more disturbing than those of Resident Evil, as if they are humans being consumed in their transformation that makes them revolting, not transforming into some creature or Zombie. Has anyone played it before on the Dreamcast, I'm kind of tempted to look for one to play it.

I seem to remember playing it. Not sure if it was on the DC though. I think I may have had the PC version. It was pretty impressive from what I remember although I do not think I ever finished it.

Ugg... seeing that title I had hopes that maybe, just maybe my favorite video game system of all-time might get a successor. RIP Sega.

I had the Japanese version for a while. Early in the game, there is a tentacle scene that I heard was cut from the North American version.

I mainly remember lots of slogging through the snow, trying to figure out where to go next.

I was somewhat surprised that Sega jumped out of the bandwagon so quickly, just in only few months when the PS2 came to North America, and it still had more dreamcast sold than the PS2 during that time. That's how failure to fund can do to you.

This game is why I hate when people refer to Diablo 2 as D2. Always confuses me. Like a ton of Dreamcast games it was an enjoyable underrated game that got ignored but I am proud to own it in my DC collection. Why couldn't Nintendo have died as a hardware company instead of Sega

I had the Japanese release on the Dreamcast. I remember liking it, but don't remember much about the game itself besides it being in the snow and fighting monsters.

I read through your collection that you haven't beaten it. Why? I thought it was more of a movie type of game, not something you get stuck in easily?

Was a mistake. Think I must not have been paying much attention and thought I was doing Draconus or something since D2 should have been four stars and not three as well as beaten. Draconus never got beat due to the VMU I was using for it getting lost and I never bothered going back to it. Have not updated the status of most of my games on that site though so not the most reliable listing. Joined it since I liked it more for collection listings than IGN but after already adding games figured I might as well update the status too and later clued in how long that was going to take and have been too lazy to finish most of it Hardest part is remembering what I beat and didn't finish off with older games. Also hard remembering if they should be beaten or completed.

Supposedly SEGA is looking to get back into the console game.

Huh? Don't get me wrong, Sega has made a nice comeback in the past year but I'm just not sure how they'd have the capital to support a console of their own. They also don't seem to have resources to support a large library of quality first party games like they use to. I'd LOVE to be proven wrong by Sega though.
