Default HD DVD prematurely blowing its wad

I don't care if there are other threads on this subject, something tells me mine has the best title!

Uni announced that Knocked Up will be on HD DVD September 25, with Evan Almighty coming out October 9th. The second title there was a disappointment, and the only other title they have left that will make an impact on sales this year is The Bourne Ultimatum.

So they've got one title, albeit an excellent one, to go up against Spidey 1-3, Cars, Ratatouille, POTC 3, and hopefully Die Hard and The Simpsons Movie. Let's not even get into the thoroughly discussed catalogs. I thought Graffeo and Kornblau told us to "wait until the 4th quarter." Well, what are they going to do when they've got to get into the 2-minute drill (I apologize for those across the pond who don't know that American Football term, it means you have two minutes to go the length of the field for a TD)?

They're just like a teen on prom night.

doubt it, ultimatium will be more like the ugly girl running up at the end of the dance and giving you a big hug and kiss, "oh my god were never going to see each other again." and your like "thank god" thats how bad its going to be for hd dvd when it comes out.

Don't underestimate the strength of Bourne Ulitmatium. This is going to be a big seller on HD DVD (as big as the players in the field and interest will allow). However as other have stated, this title is going up against some day and date releases that were equally as big, if not bigger (we won't know until ultimatium leaves the theater here in the US)

If the blu-ray team plays their cards right, the could seriously cripple HD DVD come christmas time. HD DVD is not going to magically go away, but they will be a second tier format with limited support, and at some point even its strongest supporter will have to rethink its business plan with the format.

Well, given Fox and MGM's concerns over BD+, HD seems to be responding to security issues with, "Huh?...You wanted me to bring 'protection'?"
