Default War Over In 18 Months?

I apologize in advance if this was posted, but I thought it was a pretty interesting read nonetheless.

Frank Simonis, also the senior director of communications at Philips, said that while he refuses to predict victory for Blu-ray, the consumers will decide and exciting things will happen in the next year and a half.
Consumers = September 18th.... keep that in mind

exciting things.... *crossing fingers, Warner will go exclusive Blu*

If Universal goes neutral in the next 4-6 months as we expect them to, this war may be over sooner than that. We can only hope as much. There's been some speculation that if it takes another 18 months to determine a "winner" the public will forego HD entirely and neither format will surivive.
