Thumbs up Paramount released 32 High Def titles in 16 months; Fox released 30 in 4 months

How do you like them apples?

Paramount between September 2006 to August 2007 released 32 Blu-ray discs.

Fox between November 2006 to February 2007 when for all intents and purposes they stopped releasing, released 30 titles.

Let's not forget what March looked like too before they stopped, Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal, Dances With Wolves, etc.

Welcome back Fox, you make me feel fuzzy all over.

Ah, perspective is a comforting thing. If I can't resist, I'll buy a used copy of Transformers in SD DVD.

I agree. But one thing to note is that what has already been released is only part of it. Yes, Paramount's offerings were rather paltry. The other part of it is what might/could be released. That's where it gets interesting. Braveheart, Titanic, Forrest Gump, Gladiator, Road to Perdition, American Beauty, etc.

I hope Braveheart, Gladiator, and Forrest Gump do not come out on HD-DVD, I would hope for them to have Blu packaging!

If Titanic comes out it will be on Blu-ray through Fox ABC all regions with DTS-HD Master Audio.

It will easily be better than the domestic Paramount HD DVD release.

only real major titles we are loosing are Transformers and Shrek the third. Titanic, Gladiator and Braveheart should be released on Blu overseas! So don't worry about those

Importing is going to be interesting.

I got Infernal Affairs from Hong Kong the other day.

I have Crimson Tide, Bruce Almighty (top 10 box office for Uni - tee hee), and Starship Troopers on the way or being packed (I tell you, in general I might take a BVHE version over others, no matter if it is available in NA).

Interesting side to the thread:

Paramount announced they wouldn't recall current BD titles, but will not replenish.

MI-3 Trilogy is now #165 on Amazon.
