This is going to make it rounds on the various forums today and I think the responses will again be all too telling.
From where I sit, that looks like a list of irrefuteable facts by just about any fair and objective consensus, but that's not going to stop some people. |

lmao, that was funny.
The thing freezes when you press the enter/play button, the sound is poor quality, and messed up. It's all that compression, the compression ruins everything. Luckily, Blu-Ray won't have that problem. |

Is Toshiba sure that this shouldn't just be called "HD-VHS"? |

I must say the Last Samurai looks pretty damn good at 720P on my 55in Sony. I think you might be right N2blu, having both formats fighting for supremacy could benefit the consumer. Now that HD DVD has come out the Blu-ray camp seems to be fighting back a little harder now. The price of the PS3 will decide how long this war lasts, just my opinion!

![]() It is actually pretty cool - 1GB disc in the same Minidisc form factor and you can use it for music or as a USB 'drive'. |

I think the most interesting point was that the guy felt that to really benefit from HD movies/programming you need a tv of 50" or greater! My HDTV is a paltry 26" in comparison and I must admit I've been wondering whether there would be much point in me buying into the new formats. Still, I'm starting to think a wait and see approach would be better anyway. Still, the 720p trailers I've been downloading through my 360 do look pretty sharp. Especially the Ice Age 2 trailer.

Same here. I have an ISF calibrated Sony KD34XBR960 and even well across the room, I can easily tell the difference between full powered HDTV like OTA CBS HD or ABC HD vs. anything less than that. |

Normally, most of those people would be squawking and raving mad and posting complaint thread after complaint thread, but somehow...not in this case? Hmmm... I wonder why?... ![]() |
