Oh Brother, Where Art the Coen Brothers?

I'm a Coen brothers movie junkie, worked into a near frenzy after seeing the latest trailer for the upcoming "No Country for Old Men". Other than "The Big Lebowski" which has been released on HD-DVD by MCA/Universal Home Video, have any of these been announced for a high-def release? Looking at the company credits for past Coen movies, it looks like the production companies are all over the map.

And I keep thinking how good "Hucksucker" would look in high-def!

You should see the latest Coen Brothers movie in I believe February, and Oh Brother next June.

Subject to change, but that's the current plan.

O' Brother Where Art Thou? was a great film.

I think No Country for Old Men should be coming out theatrically some time in November at the latest. Knowing that, a February BD release seems likely. It's all finished, and it screened at the Toronto Film Festival.

Fargo is a Miramax film if I'm not mistaken, which falls under Disney, so that'll be BD for sure.

Fargo was Gramercy/Polygram theatrically. Acquired by MGM for US video distribution. All other rights are open.

I thought new Miramax releases were Weinstein? It is my understanding that Disney had distribution rights of their catalog titles.

I hope I'm wrong though.... I can't wait to see their new flick.

I'm dying for Barton Fink, O Brother, Fargo and Big Lebowski on Blu-ray. Unfortunately I think it will be a long time before we see those. Especially Lebowski which, as you mentioned, is out on HD DVD.

Oh yeah, those are great movies. I hope they do come out but I don't think they are popular enough ATM to be released to BD until next year at the earliest.
