Default 2012 Disney Diamond Editions

Lion King makes it official:

Lady and the Tramp - Spring 2012

Cinderella - Fall 2012

Also likley because of 3D re-release:

Finding Nemo

With the 3D re-releases Little Mermaid is probably in line for 2013 and Peter Pan would be the next of he classics that's due. Perhaps Mermaid in Spring 2013 and Peter Pan in the fall.

Good time to have a little one with all thats coming in the next two years.

I'm not too crazy about Lady and the Tramp or Cinderella. I'd pounce on Little Mermaid and Peter Pan, though. And what I'm really waiting for is Aladdin. Wife would like Mulan.

Both of which are allegedly coming in 2012 as well.

Nemo will *not* be a Diamond release, unless John Lasseter starts putting Pixar films in the Disney Vault (he hasn't yet).

And with the timing of TLM's 3D release, it'll be the other way around: Peter Pan in spring 2013, TLM in the fall. The first Tuesday in October (when Disney has almost always released its fall Diamond & Platinum titles) falls a few weeks *after* TLM 3D hits theaters, just like TLK 3D. (Edit: The fact that 2013 will be only 6 years since the Platinum release of Peter Pan vs. 7 years for TLM does *not* mean TLM comes first; 2012 is exactly the same way--6 years for LatT, 7 years for Cinderella. And for all four films, the Platinum releases came at the corresponding times of the year--LatT & Peter Pan around 3/1, Cinderella & TLM first Tuesday in October.)

Those would be correct per past Platinum release dates. However, for 2014 they might flip 101 & TJB, especially since the live-action 101 went in the Vault last year alongside the animated original (suggesting both will come out of the Vault together). Same is true (but less likely) for Pinocchio & Sleeping Beauty in 2015.

I have a guy I work with (just turned 19) who has not seen The Lion King, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, basically, any of the classics. I blame that on the vault.

Lady and the Tramp will look absolutely breathtaking on Blu-ray! It's too bad Diamond Editions are only strictly animated because I think a Mary Poppins Diamond Edition is more fitting than, say, The Jungle Book or 101 Dalmatians. Just my two cents.

I have seen the Lion King, but not the other two. I have however seen teh classics and am very familiar with Snow White, Pinnochio Sleeping Beauty and Fantasia.

Nah, the Jungle Book will be a Fall release. The live action 101 released six months after the Platinum release in 2008.

Lady and the Tramp for sure of course. Finding Nemo as well since it was mentioned. As for anything else, we'll see.

I want to see The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr Toad hit Blu. Got it on DVD and will be pulling it out soon to watch for Halloween, but would like to see it on Blu, with some more extras.

Does Disney remember they have HUNCHBACK and HERCULES in their catalogue?
