I hear ya. About the only good thing about this release is that on it's release date you'll have your choice of DVD, HD DVD, or BD. I hope to see a lot more new releases released day & date throughout the fall.

That is exciting and is a trend that I definately want to see continue. I just don't know about the whole releasing of movies that won't really shine in HD and that weren't really that well recieved being released on HD to lure people into buying the format.

Agreed. Take V For Vendetta for example, IMO this was a mistake on Warner's part not to give it a day & date release with the DVD. This is the type of movie that will help sell the HD formats. Well at least Warner is planning Superman Returns and Paramount is planning Mission Impossible 3 as day & date releases.

They did say the first 4 Warner titles would be MPEG2 and the rest VC-1

So 15GB HD DVD, 25GB Blu Ray, same codec you say... Looks like somebody might be getting higher bit rates / more extras / more sound tracks.

Do 15GB DVDs fit HD movies? I think they are useless

so it is 25GB BD only

Yes, some movies fit on a 15GB HD DVD. FWIW, future DVD/HD DVD Combo disc will be 30GB dual layer so there goes that argument.

No desire to see Sandra Bullock in any form of HD. She has not aged well at all. Maybe it has something to do with that biker dude she married.

LOL, I caught her on Letterman in HD last night and sadly I'd have to agree about seeing this film in HD.

I would like to see her in Speed in HD though.

Yeah speed in HD would be great especially if the sound was a next gen format such as PCM or DTS HD then I would be even happier. Though I think this is a ways off from happening.

You guys are breaking my heart, used to love Sandra Bullock.

Terrible movie with awful wooden performances, but it may suck in VC-1 with awesome PQ, hurrah!

Yay a movie sucking with good picture quality and audio quality. Honestly If the movie sucks I could care less what format its coming out on. Now if something like Pirates of the Carribean 2 comes out day and date then I might be happier but boring movies that nobody went to go see in theatres being released on blu-ray to try and prop up sagging studio profits is not what i want to see.
