Default How long til ps-3 hits 65 nanometers?!

I just read the 40 gb ps-3 has a 65n cell processor but i'd be much more interusted in a 65n 80 gb ps-3. Has any1 heard of a shift for all ps-3's?

65N means it sucks less juce and creates less heat...i just wish my 60 gb ps-3's
,i have 2 of em, were 65 n.

I would assume that all 80GB will have 65nm from now on, but that depends on manufacturing date. Same with 60GB PAL PS3.

They're not building the original 60GB PS3 anymore, so if you're in the US, you won't get a 65nm 60GB. But you might still get the EE

Cool 65 is the standard moving forward

They will get rid of their inventory but you should see this in all machines moving forward. There are some good articles out on this already (sorry can't link at work).

The exception MAY be if they go back to adding the backwards compatibility back in because I believe there was a certain amount of redesign that went into the new chip for the 40GB model.

Power consumption is down from 200 to 135Watt. According to engadget. Pretty significant IMHO.

There is no fan noise and unit is still running very very cool.

False alarm Those 40gbs are still 90nm. Although they do consume less energy, around 135-140 watt.
