Basically... nobody really knows (except Toshiba and Paramount).
Nothing publicly was ever fully disclosed. It's just a guesstimate.

It could end tomorrow or it may never end

It will at least end when HD-DVD ends...so maybe in 6-12 months (being generous)...

Paramount went psycho on us.

At least they end up alone in the cold at the end.

Honestly, I don't care when it ends. If it would end tomorrow, it would be a long time before I buy another title from them. They can sit and wait it out now.

These are just some of the movies ( not released on BR) we will be missing out on next year (the bold is for what I think will be big hits)-

Paramount/Dreamworks
Bee Movie
Beowulf
Sweeney Todd
1-18-08 (Cloverfield)
The Spiderwick Chronicles (famous kid's book series made into a movie)
Kung Fu Panda (animated from Dreamworks)
The Love Guru (Mike Myers new comedy)
Tropic Thunder (Spielberg produced Action Comedy with Ben Stiller)
Iron Man
The Lovely Bones ( Peter Jackson's new movie)
Nowhereland (comedy-fantasy film starring Eddie Murphy )
Eagle Eye (political thriller film staring Shia LaBeouf )
Strange Wilderness
Drillbit Taylor (comedy film starring Owen Wilson, written and produced by Seth Rogen and Judd Apatow, the same guys who did Knocked UP and Superbad )
The Ruins (Horror movie)

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (should come out for both formats or not at all)

I would rather miss out on them until they become BD exclusive and release content that is up to par with Blu-ray quality.

Warner seems to have media distro rights for Sweeney Todd outside the USA. Assuming Paramount hasn't abandoned their exclusivity by the time the film gets a home media release---and assuming the film doesn't blow chunks---that ought to be an easy BD import from somewhere.

I keep hoping for an Indy BD box set for Xmas 2008...
