Anyway, I've just seen the trailer on tv and it looked pretty nice. Brightlight Pictures, Boll Kino Beteiligungs GmbH & Co. KG and Herold Productions are listed as Production Companies. Anybody know if they are blu? Somewhere I read Fox is involved in the DVD distribution...

It's Uwe Boll....HD DVD deserves it

It's just shovelware because some company bought the rights to make a movie out of a game, and hired him to make cheap crap to make back their investment

Fox may be the domestic distro

I sat through most a Uwe Boll movie once because Kristanna Loken was in it. Even her sexy looks could not enhance the plot.

I was somewhat interested in the movie until I saw Uwe Boll was "directing" it. I really am astounding that ANY studio would pay this guy to direct a movie, every movie he has ever directed has been a complete disaster. Alone in the Dark anyone? Didn't that get a "0" from almost every reviewer across the board?

Old Uwe's era is basically over now that the German tax loophole is closed. He's no longer going to have tax-free properties to make movies out of

I was surprised at the amount of semi-wannabe famous actors tied to this. The one sheet looks like a cheesy 80's flick with Jason Statham as lead cheese head.

Still, it will find it's audience (all two of them) and the film companies will smile at the 10 dollars in profit it makes, then sign Uwe to make another.

Sad as it is.

it's movies made for fun, not unlike Crank ... and it's B movies, so why criticize plot when the fun is there?

I sat through a couple of his films -- House of the Dead, Bloodrayne. Was I supposed to be having fun? Where was the fun? I fell into deep depression after I realized precious moments of my life had been stolen after watching this garbage.

lol...

IF you could find a plot in the first dungeon seige game then you deserve a cookie...

May not have been the best way to do it, but the battles were interesting enough.

Bloodrayne 2 was down right wrong, I was original hoping for something funny of cowboys
and vampires, but anyway he screwed that one up...

Dungeon king was a complete disaster, but it wasnt cheap to make... they lost at least 20 mil on the movie.. i cant find the exact number, but it was reported to be made for upwards of 30 mil +

So if thats cheap to u.. then id hate to see what expensive is @_@

I for one am looking forward to seeing Dungeon Siege. Boll's House of the Dead is one of the funnest movies ever made. The action is so over the top insane, how can you not like it. I did positively hate Alone in the Dark. I thought Blood Rayne was decent, having never played the game. I can see why people criticize Boll, but let’s face it, it's not like he is working with the cream of the crop of video game concepts.

Director's crank out bad movies all the time, even Spielberg tanks every now and then (A.I.) but I think people go into a Boll movie with serious expectations and that is just wrong.

In fact almost every single video game that has become a movie has been a disastrous flop with the exception of the RE franchise. I don't think any other director could have done a better job with the films that Boll made. The scene in HOTD where the survivors are trying to fight their way through the zombie horde to get to the house is hysterical has enough shooting to rival a good 80s action flick and actually some really good cinematography.

Give poor Uwe a break, he is at least getting to do what he loves and do it his way, how many of us can really say that.

He doesn't love it, he likes the tax loophole (which is now gone).

House of the Dead has insane action?!? Compared to what, Cooking with Martha Stewart? If I had to see one more slo-mo circle around the character a-la The Matrix (only, you know... half as good) I might have gouged out my own eyes.

The cinematography in that movie is laughable, and the action is horrid. He kept jumping back and forth and even re-used zombies that had previously been killed. It's bad... very, very bad.

It had more larger scale battles then what
could be found in his other movies,
not lotr scale but large scale none the less.

It is best described as a fantasy movie.
