Like Assassin's Creed? (Really, I'm asking a question - like Assassin's Creed)

Assassins Creed was originally PS3 exclusive when it was announced a long time ago, but now it is also available for 360.

I agree that some of the ports have been pretty bad, but Call of Duty 4 and Assassins Creed are great. (Although I'm not sure which platforms these were developed for originally) I'm sure theyll be even better over time. It's been a year, but now it seems like the game development for PS3 is picking up.

Porting a game is simply developing a game for one platform (e.g. 360) and then changing only certain parts of the software code to allow it to be played on another (e.g. PS3)

the crappy ports were mostly from EA

Call of Duty 4 and Assassin's Creed and Oblivion all run better on the PS3. And as time goes multiplatform games will run better and better on the PS3.

If you hate ports, then just buy exclusives to be on the safe side.

exacly thats why 360 ports tend to be of so much lower quality than base amde PS3 games and i just read on the net that assasins is a PS3 to 360 port we got it first.

Default Game length/content

Doesn't the length of the game become affected too if they were designing the game for both systems - being that 360 still use DVDs.

Game developers, even if they were initially making the game for a PS3 exclusive but with every intention of porting over to the 360, will have to make sure the PS3 game is shorter so that it wil fit the 360's DVD when they do decide to make the transfer. that's what I think, is that true for Assassin's Creed? We PS3 owners would probably have gotten a longer game, a bigger world, etc.

i don't think thats a concern right now. later on down the road, for sure. but the 360 will just start seeing multi-disk releases

well they are now acually making it so you have to insert more than one disk for the 360. that would just freak me out finishing a level and seeing insert disk 2.

Who says? Everyone who reviewed it says they are the same, IGN gave the xbox360 Ver 7.7 to PS3 7.5 and Gamespot review said the it was the other way around.

final fantasy games were 3-4 disks. if i remember right there were a few rpg's hitting 5 or more? or maybe i'm getting old...i dunno. either way, switching disks isn't a big deal, its just super annoying. i think microsoft screwed up by not having a hard drive in all systems. thats gonna hurt

Gamespot says both Assassin's Creed and Oblivion run better on the PS3. IGN initially said AC ran worse on the PS3, but have since removed that comment, but have failed to adjust their scores.

I have heard many people say that the PS3 version if COD was better graphically, although I have yet to verify this myself.

Arc the Lad collection is 6 disks, but its 3 (maybe 4) games in a collection. I sure miss Working Designs and their over-the-top box sets.

+1.

Skate, DiRT, Ghost Reacon 2, Marvel Alliance, NFS and a couple of others are about even.

There were some terrible ports that really gave a lot of PS3 fodder for 360 fanboys, most notably F.E.A.R. and Madden 08'.

Developed by Mistwalker and Artoon and published by Microsoft Game Studios, it is based on a design by Final Fantasy series originator Hironobu Sakaguchi, who also supervised development and wrote the scenario. The game is the first Xbox 360 title to ship on 3 DVDs.
