Exclamation Warning to all Warner Home Video orders. Look out for auto-canceling of your order

So, I checked my email box today, and glad I did, and actually read the email from them.

Looks like they don't want to fuful the 25% discount on our orders for blu-ray, they are trying to cancel the order and not ship the items. read the email I got carefully for Harry Potter box set (I also got the same thing for two other orders I made from WHV around the same time):

Quote:
Regarding Order #129XXXX placed on 09/29/2007

Dear Erik XXXX,
Unfortunately, we are sorry to inform you that there will be a further delay in shipping the following back ordered items:

QTY Item
1 Harry Potter 1-5 Limited Edition Giftset (BD)
Blu-Ray
Price $83.21 (Savings $27.74)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We will ship within the next thirty (30) days. It is quite possible that we could ship earlier.

At this time you have the right to consent to this further delay or to cancel your order. To consent to this delay please contact our Customer Service Department at (800)364-6928, Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 12:00 Midnight (EST), or send us an email to whvcustserv@emsi.echomail.com.

Unless we hear from you within the next seven (7) days, it will be assumed that you have rejected any further delay and your back ordered items will be cancelled.

If you do cancel the order, be assured that your credit card has not been charged, as we have not shipped the product to you.

We apologize for any inconvenience.

Best regards,
WARNER HOME VIDEO Customer Service

So, if you made an order for any blu-rays that are back ordered, wach your email box and you better reply if you still want them to ship it to you and not cancel within 7 days of getting the email!

Did you have anything else in that order?

If so then it probably has been auto-triggered because by law any longer than 30 days they must get your permission, so the fact that items have shipped from your order but not that probably has triggered the email

Are you sure about this?

I ordered product on 10/23/07. I received a delay notice of 30 days on November 6 (two weeks later). Then received another one on November 20.

Mine doesn't have the auto-cancellation clause, but it's getting pretty ridiculous for sure.

Nope, because it was free shipping on any order $50+ I only ordered the box set.

I did the same on Oceans box set + another movie, got the same reply/email on that order (Still havn't gotten them)

And, I made a 3rd order of some random movies, and those ALSO have not shipped and are out now in stores. All 3 orders, sent out 3 letters exactly like the one above. I placed all 3 on 9/29/07 because of the 25% discount and free shipping. I KNOW i'm not the only one to do this in Sept/Oct. Its a great deal, cheapest you can get it for anywhere. But It sucks if they are trying to auto-cancel your order unless you reply to the email.

I wanted to bring it to everyones attention so people make sure they open their emails and read them fully to make sure they don't get screwed out of the deal.

I got this one also, but I got it as my "First" warning

This new one, was my 2nd warning letter about delay. Wanted to make sure everyone out there was aware there are two versions of this warning letter, the one quoted above, and my original post.

I got the same email about Harry Potter. Actually I got about four of them within the past month. I also have 3 orders still pending that should have been mailed out ages ago (old orders for catalog titles I ordered October 22nd). I emailed and cancelled all the orders with them. They seriously need to get their shit together. If they show up I'll refuse shipment. Already contacted American Express and told them not to process any requests from WHV. I re-ordered everything from Amazon and paid a bit more, but I know at least I'll get it. With Warner it's a crap shoot. I can do without their 25% discount just to avoid this nightmare. Never again from them.

I am still waiting for:

order placed on 9/6
Corpse Bride
Blade Runner (I know this comes out in December)

oder placed on 9/15
2001
A Clockwork Orange
The Shining

I got order delayed emails 3 times so far and called twice, and they stated it will be shipped within about 10 days now and they apologize blah blah, also supposed to get an extra coupon for future purchases, never gotten that one per phone call on 10/29

I give them until the end of this month, if nothing I will cancel all and also contact BBB ... it can't be that a company that size and reputation is allowing such crap to happen!!

Very sure, but it's past promised ship date, so since nothing else is in your order you shouldn't have gotten that till January if it hadn't shipped

I really wonder what the hell is going on over there

Um, I've also preordered the Harry Potter Set--which doesn't street till December--and WHV still auto-nags me twice a month that the set is "backordered" (oh, so you mean they haven't got it yet?) until they ship--

And I can't find where in the e-mail it's supposed to suggest that "they might cancel", since it mostly just mentions you have the option of cancelling a preorder if you want to. Like most preorder sites.

Again, this happened the same time I preordered the Popeye DVD set from WHV (couldn't help it, I'd had a discount coupon)--
I preordered in June, the set streeted in August, and I got "This set is backordered" notices twice a month all through June and July.
When logic would normally dictate that I wasn't supposed to worry about it yet.

I don't know what catalog glitch still makes their computer autoreponder classify "Preorders" in the same file as "Backorders", but I hate online catalog sites that do that!....Geez, they're annoying!!

Okay well I still haven't heard back from the Customer Service about cancelling my order and it has been well over 24 hours. I also am confused they say they don't charge your card until the item is shipped and the charge is already pending on my account??? I don't think I have ever seen that with a pre-order.
