Question . . .to buy Bourne Ultimatum on DVD or not?

I can't decide if I want to buy Bourne Ultimatum on DVD or not. . . Would it cross the line of being a Blu-ray backer ? Ha ha, it's not that bigga deal but in all seriousness I wondered what kind of effect it would have on the HD (aka Blu-Ray vs . . . well you know, we don't mention that other format as it causes confusion for ill-informed consumers) format war.

The way I see it as that the better a DVD does, the higher the expectations should be for the high definition version. So, buying a DVD of something on both DVD and HD DVD doesn't make HD DVD look better. Not that one DVD purchase is going to really matter much, but as far as helping Blu-ray, I don't see buying that DVD as a bad thing.

Unless you got qualms about double dipping, I would say do it. Im waiting for the Blu version myself. I personally don't see this whole hddud fad lasting much longer, so I'm holding out for the ultimate hd version.

I don't see any problem buying it on DVD. Myself, I will wait until Universal goes Blu and buy it then, despite the fact that it was one of my fav movies of the year.

I'm just renting the HD DVD... I never found myself wanting to watch them repeatedly. I enjoyed the first two, but not enough that I felt I really should own them.

I was tempted to pick up the trilogy set from amazon on HD DVD, but looking at the reviews the PQ is only pretty good and not excellent (surprised me actually) and there's no lossless audio tracks. Definitely a case of "good enough"

As far as buying the DVD, I would say go for it... the only company I feel bad about buying movies from is Paramount now.
