Angry Defective sony supreme cinema series: Plastic covers are coming loose!!

Hey, anyone else having issues with their LIMITED EDITION books of either THE PROFESSIONAL, THE FIFTH ELEMENT or BRAM STOKER'S DRACULA?

I bought all three and got FIFTH ELEMENT today and the clear plastic covers aren't glued to the book binding very well at all. Both front and back covers came completely loose and the back cover of DRACULA is currently coming loose. No problems with PROFESSIONAL... yet.

But these books are poorly made!! Anyone else having problems, cause I sure am!!

Not me. I bought the regular versions because this packaging looked to me like a crap idea and just a money grab to begin with.

No, because I bought the regular packaging since it was the same content and, frankly, I couldn't care less about special packaging.

You could try gluing it back together or take a hole punch & some colored metal brads & suture them back together.

Or you could complain to Sony.

It seems to me that we've definitely entered an era where quality control regarding any type of special packaging is at 0.
I read many posts regarding a recently released $700 cd box set that had all kinds of problems, from cracked discs to wrongly placed panels, etc. etc.
Even at a $700 price point there was not an effort made to individually check each copy of a very limited release.
It also seems clear that smaller and smaller amounts of glue are being used on all types of common products because I see them coming apart daily. like cereal boxes or Kleenex boxes, etc., etc.
It's all just really sad that the US has reached this point, and no-one seems to have any idea how much worse it will get before it begins to get better again.
or maybe it never will.

I remember people complaining about the Hitchcock box set falling apart as well, but I never had that problem. I think you might've received one that is poorly glued, I don't think they're all poorly glued together in general.

I would guess some are more poorly glued than others. A hot glue gun would probably fix it. Like most others I got the normal versions, so I can't say for sure.

This is no surprise to me at all.
It was evident from the first unboxing video that this case isn't sturdy.

I mentioned it in the other thread, but people have great success with double-sided-sticky-tape, it's very handy when cardboard comes away with box-type packaging and it will be less messy than glue. Just be careful!

This is what all companies are doing to reduce cost. If you can cut even 1cm of glue and you produce a million boxes of cereal, it can add up.

What's this THE PROFESSIONAL you speak of? Why not get the standard editions and not the gimmicky packaging? Main reason why I'm not a fan of Steelbooks.

Why they couldn't just make a standard Digibook for their premium version is beyond me.

Except 12 packs of soda, those have gone way up in glue content and lower in ease of opening them. Seriously, been months since I had one open without some kind of ripping to aid it.

This line will be adandoned soon just like all other gimmicky named lines.

A Blu-Ray in a standard case is how all movies should be packaged.

You received an automatic thumbs up for posting "couldn't care less" instead of "could care less."
