I got addicted to that show as well. But I think Showtime is tied to Paramount somehow, isn't it?

The show looks awesome in hi-def. (In US, Season 1 is already out on DVD (and, yup, via Paramount.) Would love Blu-Ray... [Will be watching Season 2 finale in a bit over an hour from now...]

yep...great show...although I didn't like the way they ended S2...it seemed like they were leading us to Dexter turning himself in...or at least telling someone about himself...but then the Guild Strike happend and it seems like the just cut the story and went back to square one :|

however I would love this and Californication on BD

I also am a fan of this show, however the bad news for us is that it is distributed by Paramounted.

Oh well, it is easy to record in HD off of cable. In fact my HDDVR is full of Dexter atm. I have been reading online about how to get a recording off of a HDDVR internal hard drive, apparently with some work/modification it would be possible to record the Dexter shows to BD-R.

Actually, all of Dexter season 2 was in the can before the WGA strike happened. They had a full slate of 12 scripts by June/July. Season 2 started shooting May 21st and wrapped right around the time the strike started, but the scripts had been there for months.

This is the way it was supposed to go down. There was a very clear arc in season 2, and the story came full circle at the end.

well maybe so...but that's how it felt to me...I thought the finale (last 2 eps) were anticlimactic, and weak, they rapped it up a little too well...no loose ends (ala Doakes in S1), basically they kept leading Dexter to him finally opening up...and then when he was about to do it...they pussied out, and killed off the 2 ppl who found out, they built up S2 for the revelation, but then dumped it on Doakes, killed of Lila, and it basically back to the beginning, I was hoping for maybe a cliffhanger, some sort of opening into S3...

...compared to how S1 ended, S2 ending was weak...however S2 was wicked, especially after Doakes found out, and you got to c him and Dexter talk about it...

so then its a new slate for s3...which isn't a bad thing...just that they have to build up a whole new story line...and I wanna know what that is...(I want a cliffhanger dammit)

It's a cable show...they won't risk messing with the few properties they have that work.

Don't worry...the bowling alley will come into play. Laguerta's not going to give this up.

**SPOILERS FOR SEASON 2 FINALE BELOW**

The only thing I was a bit disappointed with is that we didn't see what Dex did with Lila in Paris. Did he get rid of her? Will that body come back to haunt him, or is the book of Lila closed forever? Knowing she probably didn't keep the same name or even register herself as being in France (same way she essentially didn't exist in the U.S.), I'm assuming that's the end of her. Still, that part was left a little unclear.

My Wife and I are addicted to Dexter, we feel it's the best show on television right now and by a wide margin

I believe Lila is 100% gone. Did you guys know the actress who plays Lila (Jaime Murray) is Bill Murray's daughter? Weird coincidence.

I felt the season finale last night was very good. I was happy to see Dokes out of the picture. I really did not care that much for his character. I think next season we are going to see a more "violent" Dexter as he will be living by his new "code." He may even get a bit of a God-complex. I think this was hinted to last night in the previews for next season.

Weeds season 1 and 2 is on BD, by lionsgate and why is paramount involved if weeds are on bd? Dexter would look soooo sweet on BD because its in MIAMI!!

Can not wait season 3, Dexter will probably kill in different style because his old killing style is known as Bay Harbor Butcher. However, Where are his butcher equipments that Lila stole? Did she mail it to LaGuerta?

Wow, the second season was incredible. One of the most well written seasons of a show in quite a while.

Dexter is my favorite show on right now. It's well written, well acted, and has a very original premise. I never watched six feet under, but michael c hall is absolutely spot on in his portrayal of Dexter. I really can't imagine anyone else for the part. I would love to see this on blu-ray. On another note, when CBS talks about bringing Dexter over to broadcaston their network, do they mean reruns to fill out their schedule or actually making CBS the first run network? If they water Dexter down to be on network tv, it would remove from the show all of the realism that makes it great...
