I heard that playing online with the ps3 is free is this true? Beause they asked me for my credit card number. This is probably just if you buy things from the playstation store.

Is there monthly fees like X Box Live or is it free?

Like the others have said, it's free to play online. Just another reason why the PS3 is a great buy.

Card details are only required for PLAYSTATION Store purchases.

Soon you'll be able to buy PLAYSTATION Network Cards so you won't even need a credit card for that.
