Hi. Does the Sony Playstation 3 upconvert standard definition DVDs for 1080i output? Do you find that it does a better job than upconverting DVD players?

In my opinion I would say it is comparable with panny s53 and the sony 78.

Yes, and yes...although I haven't been able to compare it to much...

ps3 will upconvet to 1080i, but only through hdmi. i have yet to see an upconverter display a better image than the ps3.

The PS3 does a much better job than the upconverting DVD player that has been consigned to our yard sale closet (whichever brand it was).

The PS3 upconverts the few DVDs I own magnificently.

it can upconvert to 720p/1080i/and 1080p
